In Costa Rica, prostate cancer is not only the second most common cancer in the population, but it is also the cancer with the highest mortality rate after skin cancer. This risk of contracting this asymptomatic and silent disease increases with age, and it most frequently appears after 50 years of age. Its detection and early treatment increase the patient’s life expectancy. For such reason, the Geovanni Vasquez Foundation carried out from November 2019 to January 2020
a significant campaign in exterior advertisement (billboards on the streets) and social media with a national approach in order to obtain an early detection, awareness and general culture.
